hey keep in mind to not assume someones gender when reblogging their selfie
I saw a few masterposts going around tumblr and decided to make one. A lot of these links are helpful for High School as well! Enjoy and please tell me if you have problems with any link.
Since “biological sex” is actually a social construct, those who say that it is not often have to argue about what it entails. Some say it’s based on chromosomes (of which there are many non-XX/XY combinations, as well as diversity among people with XY chromosomes), others say it’s genitals or gonads (either at birth or at the moment you’re talking about), others say it’s hormone levels (which vary widely and can be manipulated), still others say it’s secondary sex characteristics like the appearance of breasts, body hair and muscle mass (which vary even more). Some say that it’s a combination of all of them. Now, this creates a huge problem, as sex organs, secondary sex characteristics and hormone levels aren’t anywhere close to being universal to all men or women, males or females.
Those who claim that sex is determined by chromosomes must not realize that sex is assigned at birth not by chromosomes, not even by gonads, but by genitals. In fact, the vast majority of us never learn what our sex chromosomes are. Sex isn’t something we’re actually born with, it’s something that doctors or our parents assign us at birth. So if sex is determined by genitals, they must be clearly binary and unchangable, right? Wrong. Genitals can be ambiguous at birth and many trans people get gender confirmation surgery to change them. Neither chromosomes nor genitals are binary in the way that “biological sex” defenders claim they are, and the vast majority of measures by which we judge sex are very much changable."
groot is probs assumed to be male but tbh i figure groot is a lil genderless being. who needs the gender binary when you’re a celestial tree creature. riddle me that.
"Are you a boy, or a girl?"
"I am Groot."

WHY ARE PEOPLE WITH PENISES GIVEN FREE CONDOMS WHEN THEY DON’T NEED TO HAVE SEX BUT PEOPLE WITH VAGINAS STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THINGS LIKE PADS AND TAMPONS FOR SOMETHING THEY CAN’T STOP
Vote me for president I will make all tampons and pads fucking free
Another thing that pisses me off— vegans on and off the internet are expected to always be calm, cool, collected individuals with hard facts, sources and good arguments.
Then the carnists can just say “hurr durr bacon” and everyone will cheer, pop confetti everywhere and say the vegan was “completely” owned.
There is no valid argument against veganism.
veganism is great and amazing
but it is not for everyone.
the vegan diet supplies very few nutrients and can prohibit physical and even mental growth. Without a sufficient amount of protein and iron a human body can’t sustain itself.
so if your a vegan thats great and amazing but please don’t force your beliefs on others, especially children and animals, because it can lead to some really serious health problems. thank you and enjoy your lettuce.
First of all, veganism is not a diet. It is a lifestyle.
Second of all, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Veganism provides everything that the human body needs. The same is true for children. I am not “forcing” veganism on any future child of mine any more than you are feeding you current/future kids meat.
Plus, just to point out your snarky comment, I rarely eat lettuce, and there is plenty of delicious, non-lettuce vegan food to eat, thank you.
- Here is a prison that went vegetarian solely because of it being cheaper.
- Here is a prison in California where half the inmates were served vegan food. That half had remarkably lower incidences of violence and much better fellowship (which goes to show you that there is more to this issue than just dollars and cents).

- Meat subsidies strip other food industries to the bone
- 4 million people on this planet live on an almost exclusively vegan diet due to poverty.
- If Britain went vegetarian, less than half the farm land would be needed; vegan, less than a quarter.
- The less people eating meat, the cheaper produce gets for everyone.
- Junk Food Costs More Than Healthy Foods
- We currently produce enough food to feed the world, but feed it to animals we later kill instead.
- Studies confirm increasing population must abandon meat by 2050.
courteousy of veganvibez:
We consume twice as much protein as we need when we eat a meat-based diet, and this contributes to osteoporosis and kidney stones. Animal protein raises the acid level in our blood, causing calcium to be excreted from the bones to restore the blood’s natural pH balance. This calcium depletion leads to osteoporosis, and the excreted calcium ends up in the kidneys, where it can form kidney stones or even trigger kidney disease.
Consuming animal protein has also been linked to cancer of the colon, breast, prostate, and pancreas. According to Dr. T. Colin Campbell, the director of the Cornell-China-Oxford Project on Nutrition, Health, and the Environment, “In the next ten years, one of the things you’re bound to hear is that animal protein … is one of the most toxic nutrients of all that can be considered.”
Eating meat can also have negative consequences for stamina and sexual potency. One Danish study indicated that “Men peddling on a stationary bicycle until muscle failure lasted an average of 114 minutes on a mixed meat and vegetable diet, 57 minutes on a high-meat diet, and a whopping 167 minutes on a strict vegetarian diet.”9Besides having increased physical endurance, vegan men are also less likely to suffer from impotence.
Since we don’t have strong stomach acids like carnivores to kill all the bacteria in meat, dining on animal flesh can also give us food poisoning. According to the USDA, meat is the cause of 70 percent of foodborne illnesses in the United States because it’s often contaminated with dangerous bacteria like E. coli, listeria, and campylobacter. Every year in the United States alone, food poisoning sickens over 75 million people and kills more than 5,000.
Dr. William C. Roberts, M.D., editor of the authoritative American Journal of Cardiology, sums it up this way: “[A]lthough we think we are one and we act as if we are one, human beings are not natural carnivores. When we kill animals to eat them, they end up killing us because their flesh, which contains cholesterol and saturated fat, was never intended for human beings, who are natural herbivores.” Learn more about how meat damages human health.
